Now that the kerfuffle and hype over The Slap has died down, perhaps we can discuss the amazing message coming out of this year’s Oscars.
During the intermission, Denzel Washington, an active Pentecostal Christian, gave Will Smith some personal advice. Will then relayed that advice to the world during his acceptance speech:
“At your highest moment, be careful, that’s when the devil comes for you.”
Atheists might dismiss Denzel’s comment as being “religious”: when paraphrased it becomes relevant to all:
‘At your highest moment, you are most vulnerable to your pride, weaknesses, and the jealousy of others.’
The Oscars
Like most people I saw the assault the next day: my first thought was that it had been staged to revive the TV ratings of a very, very, woke show.
Comedian Chris Rock made a wisecrack about Jada Pinkett Smith being in “GI Jane II.” Everyone understood the reference because her shaved head was clearly visible in the front row. The joke was unkind because Jada is suffering from alopecia. (A condition causing her hair to fall out.) Jada is no exception to ‘a woman’s pride is in her hair,’ and after seeing his wife’s discomfort, Will Smith went onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock across the face.
So, has Western Civilization passed its highest moment?
Many scientific & medical achievements of Western Civilization came out of military research. Nuclear energy was harnessed for The Bomb during World War II and later the Cold War produced the race to the moon. Some of these seeds have brought us to the current Russia v. Ukraine War. This conflict is grave, but is just one part of the Cultural Crisis affecting the West. Some facets are noted below.

Abortion
The World Health Organization is now an advocate for Abortion on Demand. It endorses abortion without gestational limits, without parental consent for adolescents and opposes conscientious objection. [“Abortion Care Guideline”]
Euthanasia
A recent article in the National Post, Canada, noted disturbing realities about our Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD in Canada is overwhelmingly Voluntary Euthanasia.)

They spoke of Arthur Cole, who was in his 80’s and had surgery for metastatic thyroid cancer. He was discharged home with a tracheostomy but without home care. Understandably his elderly wife had trouble managing the breathing tube. When the cancer spread to his brain, he requested domiciliary palliative-care but was told that that service was not available. Instead, a doctor offered a house-call to administer euthanasia...
Infanticide
+A recent article in LIVEACTION shows evidence of late-term and partial-birth abortions in the US (illegal in some States.) They claim the infant’s bodies show evidence of Infanticide.

LGBTQIA+ indoctrination from DISNEY
As Catholics we are taught to welcome all, including LGBT folk. The Catechism advises us about acceptance of homosexuals: “They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.” [Section 2358]
The Holy Father, Pope Francis also taught: “…that we pray all together. You can advise them to pray, show goodwill, show them the way, and accompany them along it.”
Goodwill does not include tolerating the promotion of the LGBTQIA+ agenda to Kindergarten, through Third Year/Third Grade children.
Disney opposes appropriate limits on sex education to these age groups in Florida.
Sex Trafficking
Epstein was in jail charged with trafficking and Maxwell is in prison after being found guilty, but no-one else who used their sex-trafficking ring has been charged — never mind sent to prison.
In Britain there were grooming & prostitution rings in Rochdale, Rotherham and other cities. The perpetrators were British Pakistani men who were abusing underage white British girls primarily: one was only 11 years old. There is evidence that early complaints were ignored by the police and government agencies, in case they would be ‘perceived as being racist…’
Promotion of Paedophilia
The newly appointed US Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, has consistently given sentences below judicial guidelines to pedophiles and the users of child abuse materials.

District Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson heard horrifying details of “sadomasochistic” torture of young kids — including “infants and toddlers” — yet challenged the disturbing evidence presented by prosecutors and disregarded their prison recommendations to give the lightest possible punishments in each case, according to transcripts of sentencing hearings obtained by the Post.”

Normalization of Abnormal Behaviour
Sadly, this brings us back to the Smith family.

Jada relates how her grandmother taught her to masturbate…at 9 years of age. A troubling aspect is that Jada does not see this as being the sexual abuse of a minor.

Government Autocracy
Many countries had severe pandemic restrictions, but a few went all-out Dictator Level lock-down as is happening in Shanghai. Australia built concentration camps to detain people — and even kept them there after testing negative repeatedly. Canada recently used the Emergencies Act to stomp out the Truckers demonstration (a provision similar to a War Measures Act.) The government went so far as to freeze personal accounts so demonstrators could not even feed their own families.
Many countries are considering a permanent digital ID which can be linked to our “Social Credit Score” which, can be linked to a digital currency. The Chinese Communist Party use such a ‘Social Credit Score’ to quash all dissent.
Censorship of Free Speech
Curiously, Chris Rock no longer does gigs in American colleges because political correctness has made it impossible to tell a joke without causing major offense.
Twitter had the gall to block a sitting US President with ~80 million followers. Now that Musk has offered to buy Twitter to make it a Free Speech platform, the US government instituted a Disinformation Governance Board as part of Homeland Security to support the official version of ‘The Truth’: straight from Orwell’s 1984!
Gender Studies
Teachers in the Eau Claire School District (Wisconsin, USA) received a training program on Gender Issues which included a slide saying: “Remember, parents are not entitled to know their kids' identities. That knowledge must be earned.” Woke school district orders teachers not to share kids' gender identities with their parents | Daily Mail Online
Conclusion
The core-values, Rights & Freedoms we enjoy in Western Society are being destroyed by pervasive Post-Modernism, Neo-Marxism and Relativism. Like Denzel, Christians will see this as the work of the Devil. The only way this can be stopped is if all moral conservatives — Catholics, other religious denominations, humanists & atheists — work together to resist these changes: NOW!
