There are countless success stories of the Irish diaspora in the United States, many of them glorious beacons of pride for both sides of the Atlantic.
John F. Kennedy, Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Astronaut Michael Collins, to name a few.
Yet, there are some shameful stories too.
None more shameful than Margaret Sanger, the Occultist Racist Eugenicist who founded Planned Parenthood.
Sanger despised people with physical and intellectual disabilities and worked diligently to make sure that both would have as little a part to play as possible in society.
Sanger also became deeply involved in the Occult, in necromancy and in bizarre sexual practises linked to demonology. There are suggestions too that she saw the sacrificing of children as an important form of spiritual awakening.
A vigil this week outside Planned Parenthood in New York saw Catholics with placards that represented disgust at this element of Sanger's depraved life.
Some of those in attendance included the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, a member of whom was recently jailed for trying to help women who were being coerced into abortions by family and partners.
