The OnlyFans Time-Bomb

Ireland — like many countries — is facing a possible epidemic of violent deaths in “content producers” of OnlyFans pornography. The majority are young women.

Introduction

In the video’s below we see the dreadful outcome for many who were involved in ‘traditional’ pornography. These include suicidal & ‘accidental’ drug overdose / suicide / murder / homicide / motor vehicle accidents, etc.

OnlyFans [O.F.] revolutionized the market when it made the delivery of pornography a two-way “social platform” connecting the creator directly with the “fan.” O.F. says that it “allows them to monetize their content while developing authentic relationships with their fanbase.”

“Authentic relationships…” What rubbish.

This change has brought two enormous problems. First, anyone with a camera and access to the internet can produce pornography which can now be viewed around the world in seconds…and will be there to haunt people forever. This means every smart phone, so the numbers of people making porn is increasing exponentially.

Secondly, 84% of the O.F. pornography “creators” are women. (And mostly young women who are seeking fast-cash, clicks and validation.) A tiny percentage make the big bucks but everyone must debase themselves in ever more perverse ways to maintain the dopamine rush. Eventually the false validation will peter out and the “fan” will move onto the next big thing.

OnlyFans

According to Wikipedia:

OnlyFans is an internet content subscription service based in London, England. The service is popular with sex workers who produce pornography, but it also hosts the work of other content creators, such as physical fitness experts and musicians.

Content on the platform is user-generated and monetized via monthly subscriptions, tips, and pay-per-view. Creators are paid 80% of these fees and earn a yearly average of $1,300. The company launched a free safe-for-work streaming platform, OFTV, in 2021. The website grew in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic; as of May 2023, OnlyFans had more than three million registered creators and 220 million registered users.

It was reported in a December 2024 article that OF has 305 million users worldwide and over 4 million creators. If the average income is just over $100 per month, mathematically the majority must earn less than this because of the (few) big earners.

To crunch the numbers, about 70% of the creators on OnlyFans post only adult content or focus strictly on adult OnlyFans niches. And within that pool, only about 1% make more than $100,000 annually.

The creator space is female-dominated, with women making up 84% of all creators on the platform. So, with these numbers, there are approximately 3.78 million women on the platform.

Naturally accurate numbers are difficult to access from O.F., but it appears “that there are around 9895 Irish OnlyFans accounts; the overwhelming majority of which are younger girls.”

However, this money comes at a cost with an average of 131 posts per account showcasing a wide variety of content which the average account compelled to share upwards of 352 images and 338 videos in efforts to reap the OnlyFans cash rewards.

These images and videos range from full nudity to ‘just toes’ but it does require the creator to share risqué snaps to total strangers in return for ‘tips’.

O.F. promotes non-porn content producers (cooking, fitness, modelling and other influencers) but I believe this is to give the impression of it being a broader anti-Social Media site.

Violent Death

Below are video’s showing how people in the porn industry have died. (With photo, stage-name, cause of death & age.) The first 2 videos are of women; the third is of men in heterosexual porn and the last is of men involved in gay-porn. (There is some overlap.) It is horrific to see how many have died of unnatural causes.

WARNING: many of the deaths below are related to suicide. Please seek help if you are contemplating self-injury.

Also, remember that even when some appear to be from a natural cause, there may have had increased risk due to the ‘profession’ — such as sexually-transmitted herpes causing cervical cancer.

Other Harm

As noted in FORBES, female creators face harsh consequences; sex-work is linked to mental health issues and content creators are often under pressure to create increasingly explicit content.

Six percent of the respondents disclosed to The Avery Center that they felt they had very little control over what they created and how the material was used, as they had traffickers who managed their accounts for them. And, more than half of the respondents felt that the platform was not doing enough to screen the accounts of creators and subscribers.

Moreover, 34% of the creators surveyed said that they experienced negative physical or mental health consequences. According to the report, some of the common mental health outcomes included anxiety, depression, shame, fear, and low self-esteem.

Redemption!

There is an occasional story of someone getting out of the porn industry alive and well. CA has reported on Joshua Broome and Nala Ray — both found redemption through religion.

Conclusion
Involvement in OnlyFans is likely to increase the early death of content producers, especially young women. NOW, is the time governments must oppose this dreadful change.

Many people are lost and seeking validation in the wrong place — please pray for them.
