After the devastating blow of Pope Benedict XVI’s passing, we now mourn the loss of another gentle giant of the Catholic world, Cardinal George Pell.
Pell was one the most prominent figures in the history of the Australian church.
In 2018, a show trial found him ‘guilty’ of a ludicrous charge made up by the anti Catholic media. The kangaroo court was the mockery of the world, which could scarcely believe the absurd nature of the corrupt media and courts system when the case was going to trial. The corrupt conviction was eventually overturned in 2020.
He passed away today after complications from a hip operation.
May he rest in peace.
We show you a video from World Youth Day 2008, when millions attended the event with him and Pope Benedict XVI at the help.
Let us pray for both great men, often hated by the world for their love of Our Lord.
