Last week, we shared the news that two Nigerian priests had been kidnapped by Muslim terrorists.
Now, news has emerged that one of the priests has been found after being murdered while the other one escaped.
Fr. John Mark Cheitnum was violently killed on the same day that he had been abducted by the Muslim terrorists, his body was found on Tuesday having been dumped in a forest.
His compatriot Fr. Donatus Cleophas managed to escape somehow, though there are no details in the public sphere yet of how this happened.
Cheitnum was a relatively high profile figure, having been the chair of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the area.
He will be buried this coming Thursday.
As per usual, Nigeria’s Muslim President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to condemn the attack. On the day of the slaughter of 50 Catholics on Pentecost, he was filmed laughing and gorging on food with his government.
