It’s almost impossible to find a corner or Western society that has not been infected with unnecessarily divisive Critical Race Theory, yet it seemed like Saint Patrick’s Day should have been one that remained untouched.
Alas, the Holy Day is no longer off limits for these people.
The ‘St. Patrick’s Festival’ Twitter account has sent a number of tweets today bizarrely conflating St. Patrick bringing Catholicism to the Irish people with modern Critical Race Theory efforts to turn people against one another.
Firstly, they posted a message that stated ‘stand up to Racism’ with an image of an obscure singer underneath.
When that did not appear to receive the desired controversial responses, they decided to try again, this time with an even more inappropriate and bizarre tweet stating:
And while we’re at it, we are reclaiming the Irish flag for all our people, our beautiful multi ethnic society. It was designed to signify peace and hope, not hatred and ignorance. #AwakenIreland stand up to racism. #SPF2021
This is hijacking a Catholic Holy Day for a passing political gain.
Catholics should not only boycott the St. Patrick’s Festival this year, but they should boycott it for good.
Interestingly, the Saint Patrick’s Festival account tweeted celebrations for Chinese New Year the other day, but made no mention of the prevalence of racism in China, the destruction of churches and the fact that Christians are forced underground. It’s almost like they are not really trying to stop racism.
The account blocked us when we pointed out that Catholics had had enough of corporate interests using our Holy Day to line their own pockets.
Thankfully, some people are starting to organise alternative events.
On St. Patrick’s Day this year, Catholics will process through Dublin with a statue of our Patron Saint at 2.30pm.
Saint Patrick’s Day is about Saint Patrick bringing the light of Christ to then pagan Irish. Nothing else. Let’s not let ANYONE hijack it.
