Twitter has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, with CEO Jack Dorsey being grilled by US politician Ted Cruz over the company’s behaviour during the US Election. Cruz repeatedly pressed Dorsey on the seemingly arbitrary application of Twitter’s rules, which seem to disproportionately target conservative and traditional voices. The social media platform have come under intense scrutiny for their locking of the New York Post’s account, America’s oldest newspaper, after it published a piece critical of Joe Biden.
In Europe, such censorship is not strictly necessary as there are barely any prominent conservative media voices to speak of. Those countries which do have more Nationalist and Traditional media outlets are finding themselves under increasing pressure from NGOs, the European Union and others who seek to try to limit any speech of Globalist policies.
One unexpected victim of this is Cardinal Dominik Duka, Archbishop of Prague. The Cardinal had his account suspended by Twitter, without any reason given. This outrageous development has been confirmed to Catholic Arena by a spokesperson of the Czech President.
The last time that Cardinal Duka had someone interfere with his ability to communicate to his flock was in 1975, when the Communist regime revoked his ability to work publicly as a priest, forcing him to fulfil his work as a Dominican in secret.
It has also been confirmed to us this evening that Twitter have suspended the unofficial Czech language account of Pope Francis at the same time as that of Cardinal Duka.
With foreign funded protests in Poland, anti Catholic attacks in France and now this censorship of a Prince of the Church from communicating with his own people, something is deeply wrong with the direction of Europe.
