The Synod has descended into free fall over the last few months.
Poorly worded and biased passages in the various Synod Synthesis documents were the beginning of the troubles. In Ireland, a mean spirited and vitriolic attack on young priests was allowed to be included in the report, making criticisms that were eerily similar to those of a prominent pro regime cleric in a viral video.
Most recently, the Synod social media shared some child like ‘art’ that appeared to call for women priests and which comically depicted a college speaker at a Synod event as ‘Queer’ when he was not.
Now, Cardinal Müller has expressed the most strong opposition so far, stating that the church is experiencing a ‘hostile takeover’ in comments made while appearing on EWTN's Raymond Arroyo.
It comes only a day after Müller launched a no holds barred attack on the schismatic Flemish Bishops, who are going to begin blessing homosexual unions that the civil authorities declare to be married.
As usual, it was the Anglosphere which reacted most angrily, with one commentator using the increasingly offensive suggestion that every left leaning potential subversion from the Synod is in fact a work of the Holy Spirit.
Considering the fact that the Democratic Party is on record as wanting to subvert the church by starting a ‘Catholic Spring’ and considering the fact that Ireland's ‘Association of Catholic Priests’ are heavily linked to the long ruling pro abortion Fine Gael party, it seems absolutely reasonable to suggest that there are forces trying to infiltrate such a shoddily prepared system.
