On December 18#, Pope Francis released Fiducia Supplicans which allows for the blessing of “irregular relationships” by Catholic Priests.
There have been many strong responses — both for and against.
Below is the current map of Bishops responses to Fiducia Supplicans, as compiled by Shane Schaetzel. This is the most recent version posted today on 𝕏/Twitter — @ShaneSchaetzel — just 2 weeks since the release. (and many thanks to Shane for permission to copy the map.)
One country which surprised me is India (with support for FS.)
Several countries have yet to respond, but some of these will be difficult to interpret. The Catholic Church in China (~60 million people) is essentially controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). North Africa and the Middle East are predominantly Muslim and have a paucity of Catholics.
I hope to post the map again as Shane updates it, or alternatively you may follow him on 𝕏/Twitter!
