The German branch of the Catholic News Agency reported yesterday that Pope Benedict XVI will be taking part in the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary this coming Friday March 25th.
CNA states that they spoke with Pope Benedict XVI’s secretary Georg Gänswein at the weekend and that he confirmed Benedict’s participation:
Of course, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will join the call of Pope Francis in prayer with a view to the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
It does not state if Pope Benedict XVI will be physically present at the consecration or not.
Meanwhile, more and more bishops have stated that they will join the Consecration, from Archbishop Fisher in Australia to Archbishop Martin in Ireland.
