The connections between the US bishops and the Democratic Party run deep enough that we assumed some tacit acquiescence to President Joe Biden’s term in office, but nothing could have prepared us for the shocking and sinister behaviour of Cardinal Cupich in the past 24 hours.
Firstly, Cupich was amongst those who vetoed the statement released today by Archbishop Jose Gomez, with assistance from the Vatican, after it criticised Joe Biden’s commitment to abortion and to other anti life policies.
Now, Cupich has released a stunning and nasty set of tweets which criticise the decision to go ahead and release the statement today despite pro Biden factions in the church trying to stop it:
Cupich claimed that his opposition was due to the lack of collegiality involved in the decision, yet it is clear that this is not the issue at hand.
This administration is extreme, even by the standards of others in the Clinton/Bush/Obama dynasty line. Kamala Harris has previously stated that members of the Knights of Columbus should be banned from serving in public office, one wonders what her views are on John F Kennedy.
In the meantime, it is demeaning to watch the behaviours of men like Cupich. He claimed that today’s statement was unprecedented, well of course it was, when was the last time that the White House was inhabited by a Catholic who intended to undermine the church? Biden, as a Mass goer must not be allowed to do these things without correction, as his old buddy Cardinal McCarrick allowed him to do.
The Democrats in recent years have discussed planting the church with fake groups designed to weaken it, they have spied on Pope Francis. It is time that people, even Democrat voters, had the decency and courage to say ‘enough’.
Despite the best efforts of the Globalists, human nature does not change. Cardinal Cupich’s protests today, like all human behaviours of note, are already found in the Gospels.
Now upon the solemn day the governor was accustomed to release to the people one prisoner, whom they would.
And he had then a notorious prisoner, that was called Barabbas.
They therefore being gathered together, Pilate said: Whom will you that I release to you, Barabbas, or Jesus that is called Christ?
For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
And as he was sitting in the place of judgment, his wife sent to him, saying: Have thou nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
But the chief priests and ancients persuaded the people, that they should ask for Barabbas, and take Jesus away.
And the governor answering, said to them: Whether will you of the two to be released unto you? But they said, Barabbas.
Pilate saith to them: What shall I do then with Jesus that is called Christ? They say all: Let him be crucified.
The governor said to them: Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying: Let him be crucified.
And Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made; taking water washed his hands before the people, saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just man; look you to it.
And the whole people answering, said: His blood be upon us and our children.
Then he released to them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him unto them to be crucified.
