French Catholics to Hold Day of Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima

On December 3rd, the French devotional organisation, La France Prie, will host a day of consecration to Our Lady of Fatima.

The lay organisation rose to prominence during the lockdown, praying in public spaces when churches were closed.

In a message promoting the upcoming event, they write:

‘The movement "La France prie" has organised for the blessing of three Pilgrim Virgins of the Immaculate Heart of Fatima on Saturday December 3, 2022 at Île-Bouchard (37) south of Tours.

The program for this day begins at 2:30 p.m. with a procession from Place Sibileau then continues with the blessing of the Pilgrim Virgins at 3:00 p.m. at the sanctuary of Bouchard Island. At 4:00 p.m., all participants are invited to a friendly snack to get to know and chat with each other. At the end of this ceremony, the three statues of the Heart Immaculate of Mary will make a pilgrimage on the three axes West, Paris/north and East/south of France respectively covering approximately 8,000 km. About 200 groups of rosaries will welcome Our Lady to accomplish the personal consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The statues will circulate for a week in families of rosary groups. Ile-Bouchard was chosen in particular for the message of peace delivered by the Virgin in 1947 when France was on the brink of civil war. "My children, get on your knees, say the rosary.”

All Christians are welcome to this beautiful ceremony placed under the patronage of Notre-Dame patroness of France. It is a matter of entrusting our country to the Blessed Virgin and asking her for her help to return to Christ and his most holy precepts in order to find peace and freedom respecting natural law and the Christian order’.

We wish them Bon Courage and encourage all of our French readers to get involved if they can.
