In remarks made to young Russian Catholics this week, Pope Francis advised them to take pride in their nation’s history.
The remarks have drawn heavy criticism from across the world, with the Wall Street Journal accusing him of praising ‘Historical Russian Imperialism Amid the War in Ukraine’.
Interestingly, the Vatican edited out his remarks in their official transcript.
