Despite recent reports of Pope Benedict’s ailing health, images from a visit by Pope Francis have shown him in good spirits and sound of mind.
As 11 new cardinals were declared, Francis accompanied them in visiting Benedict at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery chapel. They sang Salve Regina while the cardinals and Francis kissed the hands of Pope Benedict.
