5 years on from legalisation and the Irish establishment has gotten what they sought, with over 10,000 babies in Ireland now aborted before birth.
In the latest report, released on a Friday evening to dim coverage, the spiralling numbers come to light. 1 in 6 pregnancies in Ireland now end in abortion, thanks to the same government patting itself on the back for legalising surrogacy.
Ireland publishes some of the most sparse and basic abortion facts of anywhere in the world that performs the act, in complete difference to England and Wales where the statistics are far more exhaustive. Whether this is down to distrust of the public or inability to collect data or both remains to be seen.
What we do know, of the few statistics that we have been trusted with, is that only 21 of the 10,033 abortions fell under the category of ‘risk to life or health’.
Dublin has the most abortions while Louth had the most per capita.
The Pro Life Campaign has described the new statistics as ‘heartbreaking’.
