Daytime Irish TV hosts are not known for being the most well informed, but a recent broadcast on Virgin Media really took it to new extremes.
During a discussion about Harrison Butker, the American Football player who was criticised for making a pro family speech, a guest ‘expert’ made some bizarre claims about the Latin Mass. If that was not bad enough, the host managed to laugh at the idea of the Latin Mass before claiming, with jaw dropping confidence, that Butker was breaking Catholic teaching by throwing an American Football on a Sunday because it was made of pigskin.
The ability of modern Irish television personalities to revel in their own ignorance is second to none.
