One of the success stories of the Irish church in the past decade has been the growth of the Traditional movement, with Latin Mass priestly fraternities increasing in popularity and swathes of young people being attracted to these churches.
One of those is the Institute of Christ the King the Sovereign Priest, who have been in Ireland since 2006 and who now have churches in Limerick and Belfast, while providing Latin Mass in Galway also.
Now, The Sisters Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus, their contemplative order of nuns, have purchased a convent in Ardee, Co. Louth.
In a press release, the ICKSP states that the sisters will pray with ‘daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the singing of the Divine Office in Gregorian chant’.
With the growth of the ICKSP, the FSSP, Silverstream Priory and even the SSPX, the upcoming Irish Synod cannot surely pretend that the nostalgia for the 1970s embodied by the ACP is the way forward. Even those who are not centred upon the Latin Mass, as such as the Dominicans and the Home of the Mother, are growing and having a significant impact because of their traditional approach.
The ICKSP website states that they have taken out a large loan in order to complete this purchase, please consider this donation.
Please pray for the ICKSP and Irish church also.
