The US Presidential election is to take place this coming November.
There is certainly less hype about it than there was in previous elections in 2020 and 2016, with the certainty of a Trump-Biden rematch not exciting people the second time around.
The initiative ‘Masses for Trump’ has been launched by Catholics for Catholics, a group of lay Catholics with some very prominent names.
Their CEO has said of the initiative:
These Masses will be offered for all patriots working hard during this election period to fight back vs the atheistic communism that seeks to destroy the family, male and female genders, our borders, the victims of human trafficking, the rights of the unborn etc
Some priests and liberal media outlets such as the National Catholic Reporter have not been particularly annoyed by the programme of offering prayers for Trump in this manner.
Catholics for Catholics have said that they want 2,024 Masses to be offered for Trump before election day.
So far, a counter on their site says that they have offered 92 of those.
Although some may find it tacky or distasteful, having a Mass said for just about anyone or any reasonable intention is not problematic in and of itself.
