January has been the worst month of Ireland’s lockdown period.
We won’t get into the political reasons for that on this occasion.
Instead, we remember the 5 Holy Family sisters who have passed away in Newbridge, Co. Kildare this past week.
Sisters Patricia O’Hara, Maureen Delaney, Ellen Teresa Butler, Dymphna McCloskey and Columba.
This sad news occurs as Ireland faces another glut of deaths in nursing homes and in environments that care for the elderly.
The Holy Family sisters (a French order) have been in Newbridge since 1875 and have ran a popular girls secondary school there since the 1950s.
In your mercy please pray for these 5 souls and for all the elderly who have been lost in Ireland in the past year.
