After RTE’s dark night of hatred on New Year’s Eve, Catholics arrived to pray as an Act of Reparation outside offices of the lucratively funded State Broadcaster yesterday.
Bearing an image of the Holy Face, the Catholics arrived to 2pm to a heavy police presence, with large numbers of Gardai approaching Catholics and instructing them that the protest was not lawful, jarring with the images of the Black Lives Matter protest proceeding in large numbers only last week, with failed politician Ruth Coppinger even being allowed to speak on that occasion. Many present at the event at RTE took to social media to express the perplexing nature of this selective enforcement of guidelines on public displays during lockdown, though with the understanding that this was not the fault of rank and file Gardai, but perhaps due to the political power that RTE wield, with several high profile people at RTE being related to powerful figures in Irish politics.
Some in the public had criticised the event going ahead in these conditions, others had wondered if it was still necessary after the broadcaster finally apologised, but organisers stated that reparation for a deliberate offence upon Our Lord and Our Lady was necessary:
it needed to go ahead as an act of reparation, because it does not matter that we as Christians might have been offended, but it matters that it is an offence against God himself and that we want to strongly urge RTE to repent and apologise to God, not us. At a time when this country is suffering multiple problems, people should be on their knees begging Gods assistance, they should not be mocking him.
Continuing, they stated that they hoped Irish people would realise that the current evils abounding cannot be accepted in our land:
we want everyone to follow Our Lord's request to Sr Marie of St Peter to make reparation. Sr Marie of St Peter also said of Jesus. He has commanded me to make war on the communists, telling me they are enemies of the Church and her Christ.
So with the emergence of this communistic Irish society, let us all seek the Holy Face of Jesus.
