One of the most amazing pieces of architecture in the world is set to finally be completed in 2026.
Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia has been under construction for well over a century and now looks near to completion.
Under the direction of visionary architect Antoni Gaudi, the incredible building took shape until his tragic death in 1926.
Pope Benedict XVI declared it a minor basilica in 2010, when 100,000 people attended a Mass there (well, 6,500 inside).
It has been announced this week that the main work will finish in 2 years time, with some other features such as a large staircase taking until 2034 to finish.
The cause for Gaudi’s canonisation has been opened.
