Spain’s Socialist government, composed of the PSOE party, has had a strange few months.
They have made headlines for their position on Palestine, for the bizarre financial irregularities involving leader Pedro Sanchez and his wife and now for their irrational opposition to the Rosary.
Since the elections in Spain last November, Catholics have been gathering at Ferraz in Madrid to pray the Rosary.
The organiser of the event was recently charged with large fines that exceeded three thousand euro, with police regularly being sent to the prayers in order to intimidate Catholics.
The government had sought to try a creative approach, banning public gatherings at various times and now banning them in the run up to the elections this weekend.
After issuing an order stating Rosary attendees would be arrested, it was swiftly overturned in a court.
The government have not taken it well, however, with a ne social media post mocking Catholics who pray.
