It is almost one year since the onset of the pandemic caused a Mass at Slane to be cancelled on St. Patrick’s Day.
The ‘Light the Fire’ event was scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day at the location where he lit the Paschal Fire in defiance of the pagan king at Slane.
A year later, public Mass will still be banned on St. Patrick’s Day but the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal will be presenting Adoration and a Mass presided over by Bishop Tom Deenihan from the parish.
