Irish Catholic media company Immaculata Productions will present the third edition of their exciting conference The Hedge this August.
The event will take place in Knock, Co. Mayo, the site of Ireland’s Marian Shrine.
The speakers include:
Fr. Vincent Twomey – (Keynote speaker) The Life & Work of Pope Benedict XVI
Born in Cork, 1941, D. Vincent Twomey, SVD, studied theology in Maynooth. After his doctorate under the supervision of Prof. Joseph Ratzinger, University of Regensburg, he taught dogmatic theology at the Regional Seminary, Papau New Guinea, and at the SVD Faculty of Theology at St Gabriel’s, Mödling, Austria, before his appointment, first as lecturer in Moral Theology, and then as Professor at the Pontifical University, Maynooth. He has featured prominently in public discourse in Ireland and has published extensively.
Fr Brendan Kilcoyne – Priest of the Archdiocese of Tuam, and currently Parish Priest of Athenry. He has a background in teaching, School Chaplaincy, educational leadership, and Church administration. He is the presenter of Immaculata Productions‘ The Brendan Option.
Rev. Gavan Jennings – A native of Dublin, a priest of the Opus Dei Prelature. He studied philosophy at University College (Dub, Ireland), and the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome, and is currently the editor of the Position Papers monthly review of books.
Mr James Bradshaw – Writer who frequently contributes to Catholic publications, including Position Papers, Alive & Mercator, where he writes on topics such as politics, history, literature, film and culture
Mr David Power – A graduate of UCD, and a registered architect. He worked on social housing in Paris in the 1990s. His practice Cox Power has been selected for many awards & publications, including Architects of Ireland Award for Best Housing.
Mr Henry Horkan – Retired teacher, a keeper of bees and a seeker of truth. Remember: not a beekeeper.
