Last week, Lubbock in Texas voted to make itself a sanctuary city for the unborn, wherein abortion would be forbidden. Not only forbidden, anyone assisting an abortion can now be sued for emotionally distressing the family of anyone who commits an abortion on a baby.
This approach is now set to go statewide, with a bill entitled SB 8 banning abortions where the heartbeat is detected. Essentially, after 6 weeks. Which is to say, it will ban almost all abortions.
The bill will go to Governor Greg Abbott next who has stated his intention to sign it.
As is the case in Lubbock, those who act as accomplices to what Pope Francis calls ‘hitmen’, in assisting an abortion, can be sued. Driving a woman to an abortion clinic will be an offence for which one can be sued. This is important, as many coercive men and rapists are significant supporters of the abortion industry as it allows them to use abortion to cover for their crimes, with feminists only too willing to enable their behaviours.
Pro abortion groups were completely overwhelmed with grief this week, with one outlet sharing this thread that outlines all of the brilliant parts to this bill.
The replies were not so convinced.
Although ‘secular’ prolife activists regularly boast of their allegedly foolproof approach, the success of Texas has been determined by the consequential political representation of having a significant Protestant (53%) and Catholic (23%) population. Alabama, who recently passed a heartbeat law of their own, have an even higher number of Protestants and Catholics.
Democrat Donna Howard stated, "If you drop your sister off at a healthcare clinic – where she has an abortion – you could be sued, against, by anyone in the US. If you process the insurance paperwork for an abortion, you could be sued’’.
You said is sister! Praise be to God.
