1 Free Time-Travel Ticket!

YOU HAVE WON ONE FREE TIME-TRAVEL TICKET to see any part of the life of Jesus!!

Where would you go?

This is not the sort of trip where you stay invisible — this is the immersive package which has you speaking Aramaic, colloquial Latin and other languages with the help of a Universal Translator. (One which is a tad more discreet than those from Star Trek! >>>> )

You will be dressed in clothing of the period and trained about local customs & polite behaviour.

So, what part of Jesus’ life would you choose?

In the past I had thought of the Crucifixion — to witness the sacrifice Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, made for our sins.

Alternatively, the Last Supper when Jesus gave us the Eucharist — though the immersive trip could be a wee bit problematic! Think of the reaction from 12 Apostles to a stranger in their midst but also every painting of the Last Supper would be historically incorrect! Jesus, 12 Apostles…plus one?!

Many would want to see the Birth of Christ (ewww, NO!) It would be more appropriate to visit with the shepherds or the Maji later!

The core of Christianity is the Resurrection. No Resurrection = No Christianity! As the focal point of out faith this would be the single most important event to witness.

There are many times during his 3 years of public ministry that one could learn so much about our faith, hearing it straight from Jesus! That said, these events are not likely to teach us anything new about His underlying character — His friendliness, honour and humility; His kindness, determination, moderation & modesty; His fears and sense of humour!

The opportune time to get to know a person, is when they are relaxing. The event which comes to mind is after His first miracle — Jesus kicking back with a goblet full of the finest wine on Earth! (His miracle cannot possibly produce anything but the best!!)

I think my choice to meet the person of Jesus Christ would be at the Wedding Feast at Cana — with a wee drop of that fine wine to help the conversation!
