In the Brazilian city of Encantado, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, a new statue of Christ the Redeemer is being built.
It was started in 2019 and is due to be finished this year, at a height greater than the famous one that is already in Rio de Janeiro.
Named ‘Christ the Protector’, it will stand at 43 meters (140 feet) tall.
The cost of the statue is $350,000 and has been organised by the Association of the Friends of Christ.
