Ireland has seen recent arson attacks, France is still reeling from the decapitations of Massgoers, now Spain has suffered a truly shocking attack on people of faith.

We already know how the media and politicians will react.
Those concerned will be accused of racism, the attacker will be regarded as mentally ill and any debate about whether or not being murdered in your church is a reasonable price to pay for the supposed benefits of modernity are worth it.
It also begs the question of whether recent efforts by members of the Anglo centric Milquetoast Mafia, a small collection of middle class ultra Montanist bloggers, to normalise this type of behaviour will be reconsidered.
Europe is undoubtedly becoming a less safe place for Catholics to practise their faith and the money hungry migration policies of European governments are playing a serious role in this.
If the Synod really wishes to address what it is like to be a Catholic today, perhaps it can ask what it feels like to be a Catholic who is encouraged to be ‘anonymous’ in the words of Karl Rahner, while the heads of priests like Fr. Jacques Hamel roll through our churches.
It is high time for those abusing the Gospel to justify government policy to explain why Christians are dying in this manner in Europe at the hands of those who were brought here by them.
