Sydney Archbishop Turns Up Heat on Anti Christian TV Station

The fallout from Channel 10 Australia’s attack on Christians is continuing this week, with Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher OP getting involved.

After controversial Jewish comedian Reuben Kaye mocked Christ, both Christians and Muslims organised a protest which is set to take place on March 18th.

Archbishop Fisher today wrote on Facebook:

Many of us are saddened and bewildered at the shocking comments about the crucifixion of Jesus which aired on The Project earlier this week. It’s incredible that a mainstream television program would mock the beliefs of more than half of all Australians. On your behalf, I’ve written to Paramount ANZ, the owners of Ch 10 in Australia, inviting them and the panellists of The Project to visit St Mary’s Cathedral so they can form a better understanding of what Christians believe about Jesus and why ridiculing these beliefs is inappropriate.

In this season of Lent, let us continue to do penances for these all too common acts of blasphemy, and pray that the eyes of the ignorant will be opened to the life that Christ offers us.

Channel 10 are still yet to release a sincere statement of apology.
